A bill for an act
relating to data practices; amending a Social Security number data practice
provision; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 13.355, subdivision 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 13.355, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
Subdivision 1.
General.
The Social Security numbers of individualsnew text begin , whether
provided in whole or in part,new text end collected or maintained by a state agency, statewide system,
or political subdivision are private data on individuals, except to the extent that access to
the Social Security number is specifically authorized by law.
