Requiring the commissioner of labor and industry to investigate alleged improper activity occurring through violation of employee good faith reporting of public health or safety, employment or governmental dangers, refusal to alter scientific or technical data findings of economic or environmental impact, reporting of scientific or technical study findings and occurring through employer use of authority to influence or interfere with employee information disclosures; requiring commissioner of labor and industry reporting upon condition of reasonable cause finding; classifying as private data the identity of person initiating the investigation; requiring the commissioner to investigate written complaints of reprisal or retaliation within a certain time period and authorizing commissioner issued compliance orders under certain conditions; expanding employee good faith reporting protection; prohibiting employers from using authority to influence or interfer with information disclosures; prohibiting reprisals for disclosure of improper governmental activities, providing a complaint procedure and prescribing penalties
