relating to the Minnesota Historical Society; appropriating money for a
grant-in-aid program for county and local historical societies.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2008 to the Minnesota
Historical Society for a grant-in-aid program for county and local historical societies. The
Minnesota Historical Society shall establish program guidelines and grant evaluation and
award criteria for the program. Each dollar of state funds awarded to a grantee must be
matched with nonstate funds on a dollar-for-dollar basis by a grantee. This is a onetime
appropriation and is available until June 30, 2009.
