A bill for an act
relating to airports; directing the Metropolitan Council to submit a report to
the legislature on the Crystal Airport and potential alternative land uses for the
Crystal Airport property.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin CRYSTAL AIRPORT; REPORT.

new text begin By February 1, 2007, the Metropolitan Council must submit a report to the
legislature under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.195, and to the chairs and ranking minority
members of the senate and house committees having jurisdiction over airport issues.
The report must include:

new text begin (1) an economic analysis of the Crystal Airport, including local and regional
economic impacts;
new text end

new text begin (2) an analysis of potential alternative uses of the land currently occupied by the
Crystal Airport, including the costs and benefits of the alternative uses; and

new text begin (3) recommendations on which of the uses of the land currently occupied by the
Crystal Airport would be of the greatest benefit to the general public.
