2E Relating to the military; requiring unpaid leaves of absence for the immediate family members of seriously injured or killed members of the armed forces; requiring the commissioner of labor and industry to develop and make available a poster stating employees rights relating to leaves of absence; providing for individual remedies for violations; requiring unpaid leaves of absence for the immediate family members to attend military ceremonies of mobilized active military service members of the armed forces; requiring each campus of the university of Minnesota and each institution within the Minnesota state colleges and universities (MnSCU) system and requesting private colleges and universities to provide adequate space for veterans assistance offices; requiring MnSCU and requesting the university of Minnesota and private colleges and universities to recognize courses and award education benefits for military training courses meeting the standards of the American council on education or equivalent standards for awarding academic credits; providing for treatment of veterans as residents under certain conditions; prohibiting the assessment of late fees or charges under certain conditions; providing an income tax subtraction for certain compensation for military service; appropriating money to the commissioner of veterans affairs for the state soldiers assistance fund, a veterans service coordinator and veterans assistance web manager for a centralized web site for veterans services, to provide incentive based grants to counties enhancing the benefits, programs and services to veterans and for higher education veterans assistance offices; revisor instructions
