A bill for an act
relating to light rail transit; requiring a valid
ticket for a transit ride; prohibiting multiple use of
a ticket; providing penalties; proposing coding for
new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 473.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

USE OF TICKET.

(a) At any time a fare is charged for any member of the
general public, each member of the general public on board light
rail transit must have in possession a valid ticket and must
present the ticket to a proper authority if asked to.

(b) Failure to have and present a valid ticket is
punishable as a petty misdemeanor. A passenger who has a valid
ticket and allows it also to be used by another passenger
contrary to the terms of the ticket is guilty of a petty
misdemeanor.
