"Correctional Officers Discipline Procedures Act"; establishing discipline procedures for state or local correctional officers; specifying certain requirements for the taking of formal statements after the filing of complaints; providing for witnesses and investigative reports; requiring electronic recording of formal statement sessions, availability requirements; specifying certain rights of officers relating to the presence of attorneys or union representatives and to knowledge of the admissibility of certain admissions as evidence of misconduct;
restricting the disclosure of financial records and disciplinary letters or
reprimands and the release of photographs; prohibiting certain retaliatory
actions for exercising certain rights or the reduction of rights and privileges provided under applicable collective bargaining agreements or laws, prohibiting discharge or demotion of certain correctional officers until suspended, demoted or discharged under an administrative hearing; specifying the liability for damages, costs and attorney fees of the department of corrections or local government units violating the rights of the officers
