SF 1926 Senate Long Description

Increasing the tax on alcoholic beverages (liquor) and creating a county alcohol and chemical dependency costs account for deposit of the proceeds; appropriating money in the account to the commissioner of corrections for county probation services grants and to the commissioner of human services and health for certain chemical dependency treatment and assessment services; expanding the definition of chemical dependency services and modifying the allocation and authorized uses of chemical dependency funds; providing for the distribution of funds to the commissioner of human services for certain tiered treatment services and for grants to counties for treatment support and detoxification services, to the commissioner of health for grants to local community health boards to provide health assessments and supportive services to children and vulnerable adults subjected to health risks at methamphetamine manufacture sites and to the commissioner of corrections for grants to counties to increase probation supervision of offenders involved in alcohol or controlled substance abuse or dependency crimes, specifying certain eligibility requirements for the probation services grants and certain review and approval responsibilities of the commissioner; repealing certain existing provisions providing for the funding of certain county chemical dependency services
