A bill for an act
relating to Mower County; authorizing the county to
allow towns to use additional publications for certain
required notices.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MOWER COUNTY; ALTERNATIVE PUBLICATIONS FOR
NOTICES.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 331A.03, or any
other law to the contrary, the governing body of Mower County
may authorize towns in Mower County to publish public notices as
defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 331A.01, subdivision 7,
in a weekly or biweekly publication that is not a qualified
newspaper as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 331A.01,
subdivision 8, if the publication is delivered free of charge to
a majority of town residents and is available free of charge at
places of business where the public has free and routine access.

new text begin Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
Under Minnesota Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1, clause
(a), section 1 takes effect without local approval.
