  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to finance; exempting a certain sale of the 
  1.3             Paramount Arts District Regional Arts Center in the 
  1.4             city of St. Cloud from certain requirements; amending 
  1.5             Laws 1998, chapter 404, section 23, subdivision 17, as 
  1.6             amended. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Laws 1998, chapter 404, section 23, subdivision 
  1.9   17, as amended by Laws 1999, chapter 20, section 1, is amended 
  1.10  to read: 
  1.11  Subd. 17.  Paramount Arts District
  1.12  Regional Arts Center                                    750,000
  1.13  To the commissioner of administration 
  1.14  for a grant to the St. Cloud Housing 
  1.15  and Redevelopment Authority to 
  1.16  construct, furnish, and equip the 
  1.17  paramount arts district regional arts 
  1.18  center, subject to Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.19  section 16A.695.  This appropriation is 
  1.20  not available until the commissioner 
  1.21  has determined that the necessary 
  1.22  additional financing to complete at 
  1.23  least a $5,400,000 project has been 
  1.24  committed by nonstate sources. 
  1.25  If the St. Cloud Housing and 
  1.26  Redevelopment Authority sells the arts 
  1.27  center to the city of St. Cloud, that 
  1.28  sale is not subject to the requirements 
  1.29  of Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.695, 
  1.30  subdivision 3. 
  1.31     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.32     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
