  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; public employees retirement 
  1.3             plan; providing a two-year exemption from reemployed 
  1.4             annuitant earnings limitation for certain metropolitan 
  1.5             airport police officers. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [PERA-POLICE AND FIRE; TWO-YEAR EXEMPTION FROM 
  1.8   REEMPLOYED ANNUITANT EARNINGS LIMITATIONS.] 
  1.9      Notwithstanding any provision of Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.10  section 353.37, to the contrary, a person who is receiving a 
  1.11  retirement annuity from the public employees retirement plan, 
  1.12  the public employees police and fire plan, or the local 
  1.13  government correctional plan, and who is employed as a sworn 
  1.14  peace officer by the Metropolitan Airports Commission, is exempt 
  1.15  from the limitation on reemployed annuitant earnings for the 
  1.16  period July 1, 2004, until June 30, 2007. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective July 1, 2004.
