  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; modifying swimming pool 
  1.3             requirement for high school diving competitions; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.5             128C.05, subdivision 1a. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.8   128C.05, subdivision 1a, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1a.  [SUPERVISED COMPETITIVE HIGH SCHOOL DIVING.] 
  1.10  Notwithstanding Minnesota Rules, part 4717.3750, any pool built 
  1.11  before January 1, 1987, that was used for a high school diving 
  1.12  program during the 2000-2001 school year may be used for 
  1.13  supervised competitive high school diving unless a pool that 
  1.14  meets the requirements of Minnesota Rules, part 4717.3750, is 
  1.15  located within the school district.  A school or district using 
  1.16  a pool for supervised competitive high school diving that does 
  1.17  not meet the requirements of the rule Minnesota Rules, part 
  1.18  4717.3750, must provide appropriate notice to parents and 
  1.19  participants.
