Requiring and providing for the certification of pathology assistants+ by the commissioner of health, defining speech language pathology assistant; specifying certain qualification requirements and certain authorized +duties, requiring delegation by a supervising speech language pathologist; +specifying certain prohibited activities and certain supervision requirements; +regulating the use of certain titles; authorizing temporary certification; +providing for certification following lapse of certification status; specifying +certain certification renewal requirements and setting an initial and renewal certification fee; requiring agencies intending to use the services +of certified speech language pathology assistants to notify clients; +requiring the speech language pathologist and audiologist advisory council to +advise the commissioner on speech language pathology assistant certification +standards and scope of practice; modifying certain provisions governing the +practice of speech language pathology and audiology for conformity purposes, +removing teaching of and consultation or research from the definitions of +practice of audiology and practice of speech language pathology and requiring +clinical fellowship and doctoral externship candidates to be licensed with +clinical fellowship or doctoral externship licenses (mk)
