1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education; prohibiting a school district 1.3 or charter school from purchasing chromated copper 1.4 arsenate treated lumber; proposing coding for new law 1.5 in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 123B. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. [123B.515] [CHROMATED COPPER ARSENATE TREATED 1.8 LUMBER PROHIBITED.] 1.9 As of the effective date of this section, a school district 1.10 and a charter school are prohibited from purchasing chromated 1.11 copper arsenate treated lumber, or products made of chromated 1.12 copper arsenate treated lumber, for use as playground equipment, 1.13 benches, picnic tables, walkways, fences, or landscape timbers. 1.14 [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 1.15 following final enactment.
