Modifying and making technical and clarifying changes to certain +provisions governing motor carriers; authorizing the commissioner of +transportation (DOT) to issue special permits to exceed certain highway length limits for +three vehicle combinations with two empty newly manufactured trailers to +allow the vehicles to be moved from trailer manufacturers to trailer dealers on+ twin trailer routes; clarifying the definition of person; increasing the +number of consecutive hours off duty required for drivers relieved of duty upon termination of direct assistance to emergency relief efforts; +requiring notice to the duty officer of the single answering point system under the +department of public safety of certain hazardous materials transportation +incidents; repealing certain provisions regulating certain hazardous materials +transport rule variances and incident reporting requirements and certain rules +regulating cargo tanks (Ch. 225, 2004)
