  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; changing postsecondary child 
  1.3             care grant payments; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, 
  1.4             section 136A.125, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 136A.125, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 4d.  [GRANT PAYMENTS.] All grant payments under this 
  1.9   section must be paid directly to the eligible student when a 
  1.10  provider cares for children in the children's own home.  In all 
  1.11  other cases, grant payments must be paid directly to the child 
  1.12  care provider on behalf of the eligible student.
