1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to retirement; public employees police and 1.3 fire retirement plan; providing a two-year 1.4 modification in the reemployed annuitant earnings 1.5 limit for certain metropolitan airport police officers. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. [PERA-P&F; TWO-YEAR MODIFICATION IN REEMPLOYED 1.8 ANNUITANT EARNINGS LIMITATIONS.] 1.9 Notwithstanding any provision of Minnesota Statutes, 1.10 section 353.37, to the contrary, for the period July 1, 2003, to 1.11 June 30, 2005, for a person who is receiving a retirement 1.12 annuity from the public employees police and fire retirement 1.13 plan and who is employed as a sworn peace officer by the 1.14 metropolitan airports commission, the reemployed annuitant 1.15 earnings limitation under Minnesota Statutes, section 353.37, 1.16 subdivision 1, is twice the annual maximum earnings allowable 1.17 for that age for the continued receipt of full benefit amounts 1.18 monthly under the federal old age, survivors, and disability 1.19 insurance program as set by the secretary of health and human 1.20 services under United States Code, title 42, section 403, in the 1.21 applicable calendar year. 1.22 Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 1.23 Section 1 is effective on July 1, 2003.
