  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; changing provisions for 
  1.3             mental health services; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             2002, sections 245.4711, by adding a subdivision; 
  1.5             256B.0625, subdivision 42. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 245.4711, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3a.  [TEAM CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES.] County boards 
  1.10  may restructure their existing case management services and 
  1.11  contract rates in order to make available care coordination for 
  1.12  individuals between the ages of 18 and 25 with a severe 
  1.13  emotional disturbance who are eligible for mental health 
  1.14  services under sections 245.487 to 245.4888 and who are 
  1.15  reasonably expected to require mental health services under 
  1.16  sections 245.461 to 245.486 in order to ensure a smooth 
  1.17  transition from the children's service system to the adult 
  1.18  service system.  The department of human services shall provide 
  1.19  technical assistance to counties to accomplish this goal. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 256B.0625, 
  1.21  subdivision 42, is amended to read: 
  1.22     Subd. 42.  [MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL.] Notwithstanding 
  1.23  Minnesota Rules, part 9505.0175, subpart 28, for the purpose of 
  1.24  this section and Minnesota Rules, parts 9505.0170 to 9505.0475, 
  1.25  the definition of a mental health professional shall include a 
  2.1   person who is qualified as specified in section 245.462, 
  2.2   subdivision 18, clause clauses (5) and (6); or 245.4871, 
  2.3   subdivision 27, clause clauses (5), for the purpose of this 
  2.4   section and Minnesota Rules, parts 9505.0170 to 9505.0475 and 
  2.5   (6).
