  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to counties; authorizing counties to transfer 
  1.3             jurisdiction and ownership of vacated county highway; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 163.11, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 163.11, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 9.  [TRANSFER OF JURISDICTION OVER VACATED 
  1.10  HIGHWAY.] Notwithstanding subdivision 5, the county board, after 
  1.11  vacating a county highway, may transfer jurisdiction and 
  1.12  ownership of the highway to another road authority, an agency of 
  1.13  the United States, an agency of the state, or to an Indian tribe.
