  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to families; appropriating money for 
  1.3             emergency assistance and transitional housing. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $4,747,722 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of children, families, and learning to be available 
  1.8   until June 30, 2005.  Of this appropriation: 
  1.9      (1) $3,747,722 is for transitional housing programs under 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, section 119A.43; and 
  1.11     (2) $1,000,000 is for emergency services grants under Laws 
  1.12  1997, chapter 162, article 3, section 7. 
  1.13     This appropriation is in addition to any base 
  1.14  appropriations and TANF funding and shall become part of the 
  1.15  agency's base.
