  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating trunk 
  1.3             highway fund money to acquire and improve public land 
  1.4             and buildings, and other public improvements of a 
  1.5             capital nature. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION FOR TRANSPORTATION BUILDING.] 
  1.8      $5,046,000 is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to 
  1.9   the commissioner of administration for Minnesota department of 
  1.10  transportation building exterior repair, phase 1.  This 
  1.11  appropriation is to design and repair the anchoring system of 
  1.12  the exterior cladding of the department of transportation 
  1.13  building located at 395 John Ireland Boulevard in the capitol 
  1.14  complex. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION FOR CONSOLIDATED OPERATIONS SUPPORT 
  1.16  FACILITY.] 
  1.17     $9,500,000 is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to 
  1.18  the commissioner of transportation to design, construct, 
  1.19  furnish, and equip the consolidation of the central shop, 
  1.20  electrical services, and central inventory center in one 
  1.21  location.  
  1.22     Sec. 3.  [APPROPRIATION FOR MANKATO HEADQUARTERS BUILDING.] 
  1.23     $14,000,000 is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to 
  1.24  the commissioner of transportation to design, construct, 
  1.25  furnish, and equip a replacement headquarters building and 
  2.1   support facilities on a new site in Mankato for Minnesota 
  2.2   department of transportation, state patrol, and driver's license 
  2.3   examination station. 
  2.4      Sec. 4.  [APPROPRIATION FOR COMMUNICATIONS/BACKBONE DIGITAL 
  2.5   CONVERSION.] 
  2.6      $2,000,000 is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to 
  2.7   the commissioner of transportation to convert the existing 
  2.8   Minnesota department of transportation analog microwave backbone 
  2.9   to digital equipment. 
  2.10     Sec. 5.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.11     Sections 1 to 4 are effective the day following final 
  2.12  enactment, and each appropriation is available until the project 
  2.13  is completed or abandoned.
