  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to consumer protection; regulating tanning 
  1.3             facilities; requiring consent by a parent or guardian 
  1.4             of a person under the age of 18 before initial 
  1.5             exposure; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.6             325H.08. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 325H.08, is 
  1.9   amended to read: 
  1.10     325H.08 [CONSENT REQUIRED.] 
  1.11     Before allowing the initial exposure at a tanning facility 
  1.12  of a person under the age of 16 18, the owner or operator shall 
  1.13  witness the person's parent's or legal guardian's signing and 
  1.14  dating of the warning statement required under section 325H.06.
