Requiring school boards to adopt policies prohibiting intimidation and bullying, defining intimidation or bullying and specifying certain minimum policy requirements; requiring disciplinary actions taken under the policies to be consistent with collective bargaining agreements and the pupil fair dismissal act; requiring the department of children, families and learning to develop and make available to school boards a model policy on intimidation and bullying and to upon request assist school boards in developing the policies; prohibiting school employee, student or volunteer retaliation against persons with information relating to acts of intimidation or bullying; specifying certain reporting requirements of school employees, students or volunteers and providing immunity from liability for good faith reporting; encouraging school districts to form task forces, organize programs and develop initiatives to prevent intimidation and bullying; requiring school officials to include information on intimidation and bullying policies in employee training programs and school boards to provide annual notice of the policies in student handbooks; providing for legal recourse (mk)
