A bill for an act
relating to reliever airports; requiring the
metropolitan airports commission to provide equivalent
funding for all Federal Aviation Administration
designated reliever airports; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2000, section 473.608, by adding a
subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 473.608, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:
Subd. 27a. [FUNDING RELIEVER AIRPORTS.] The commission
shall provide funding on an annual basis to a
non-commission-owned airport that is designated by the Federal
Aviation Administration as a reliever airport for the
Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport. The funding must be
equivalent to the amount of funding that the reliever airport
would have received from the commission to subsidize the
airport's operations and maintenance if the reliever airport had
been owned by the commission.
Sec. 2. [APPLICATION.]
Section 1 applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota,
Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
