  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the continuation of the center for reducing rural 
  1.4             violence.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $300,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, and 
  1.8   $300,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003, are 
  1.9   appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of public 
  1.10  safety for use by the center for reducing rural violence in 
  1.11  continuing the violence prevention services and related 
  1.12  technical assistance it currently offers to rural communities.  
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective July 1, 2001.
