  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for 
  1.3             independent school district No. 696, Ely, for a 
  1.4             transitional transportation grant. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; TRANSITIONAL TRANSPORTATION 
  1.7   GRANT.] 
  1.8      The following sum is appropriated from the general fund to 
  1.9   the department of children, families, and learning in the fiscal 
  1.10  year indicated for a one-time transitional transportation grant 
  1.11  to independent school district No. 696, Ely: 
  1.12       $150,000     .....     2002 
  1.13     This appropriation is available until June 30, 2003. 
  1.14     The school district shall receive the grant only if the 
  1.15  annexation of Fall Lake township is completed.  The department 
  1.16  of children, families, and learning must help determine the 
  1.17  boundary between independent school district No. 696, Ely, and 
  1.18  independent school district No. 381, Lake Superior, if the Ely 
  1.19  school district annexes Fall Lake township.
