Requiring the commissioner of children, families and learning to adopt rules to incorporate the international society for technology education standards for students into the graduation standards; providing for staff development grants to ensure teacher preparation for integration of the standards across all subject areas, requiring the commissioner to award grants to school sites to provide training for effective use of technology, specifying school sites eligibility requirements and a grant limit; requiring the commissioner to convene an educational technology work group to plan for technology integration in grades K-12 and to oversee a statewide audit of the status of technology in public schools, specifying certain membership and audit requirements, requiring work group recommendations to the commissioner and a report to the legislature by a certain date on the results of the audit and the recommendations; requiring the department of children, families and learning to designate a staff member as the head of K-12 technology to coordinate with the office of technology to create literate digital citizens; appropriating money to the department for a statewide technology audit and for technology staff development grants (mk)
