  1.3             the operation and maintenance of the metropolitan 
  1.4             regional parks system. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $7,500,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $7,500,000 in fiscal 
  1.8   year 2003, are appropriated to the department of natural 
  1.9   resources for grants to the metropolitan council for maintenance 
  1.10  and operation of the metropolitan area regional parks.
