1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to the city of Gaylord; authorizing extending 1.3 the duration for approval of a tax increment financing 1.4 district in the city. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [GAYLORD; TIF DISTRICT EXTENSION.] 1.7 Notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 1.8 section 469.176, subdivision 1c, or any other law, the city of 1.9 Gaylord may, by resolution, extend the duration of a tax 1.10 increment financing district originally certified in 1978. If 1.11 the city extends the district, the district is deemed to 1.12 continue to be in effect, beginning for taxes payable in 2002, 1.13 and notwithstanding the decertification of the district for 1.14 taxes payable in 2001. The city may not extend the duration 1.15 beyond December 31, 2009. Notwithstanding the provisions of 1.16 Minnesota Statutes, section 469.176, subdivision 1c, the city 1.17 may spend increments from the district on project costs other 1.18 than bonds issued before April 1, 1990. 1.19 [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective upon completion 1.20 with the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, sections 469.1782 1.21 and 645.021.
