  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; employing multiple strategies 
  1.3             to recruit qualified school administrators; 
  1.4             appropriating money.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [STRATEGIES TO RECRUIT QUALIFIED SCHOOL 
  1.7   ADMINISTRATORS; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.9   in the fiscal years designated to the commissioner of children, 
  1.10  families, and learning for the Minnesota association of school 
  1.11  administrators, the Minnesota services cooperatives, the 
  1.12  Minnesota association of secondary school principals, and the 
  1.13  Minnesota association of elementary school principals, jointly, 
  1.14  for recruiting and retaining qualified school administrators by 
  1.15  providing workshops, internships, mentorships, and ongoing 
  1.16  regional professional development opportunities: 
  1.17       $525,000     .....     2002 
  1.18       $550,000     .....     2003 
  1.19     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective July 1, 2001.
