  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; modifying the group 
  1.3             residential housing supplementary service rate for 
  1.4             certain facilities serving persons with mental illness 
  1.5             or chemical dependency; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.6             2000, section 256I.05, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256I.05, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 1f.  [SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE RATE FOR CERTAIN 
  1.11  FACILITIES.] Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivisions 1a 
  1.12  and 1c, beginning July 1, 2001, a county agency must negotiate, 
  1.13  as provided in this subdivision, a supplementary service rate in 
  1.14  addition to the rate specified in subdivision 1, for a group 
  1.15  residential housing provider that: 
  1.16     (1) is located in Ramsey county; 
  1.17     (2) operates in two separate locations: 
  1.18     (i) a 30-bed facility located in Hennepin county that was 
  1.19  licensed and registered by the department of health under 
  1.20  section 157.17 in August 1996 and receives a supplementary 
  1.21  service rate under subdivision 1d; and 
  1.22     (ii) a 28-bed facility located in Ramsey county that was 
  1.23  licensed and registered by the department of health under 
  1.24  section 157.17 in August 1996; and 
  1.25     (3) serves people with mental illness or chemical 
  1.26  dependency. 
  2.1   The supplementary service rate for the 28-bed facility under 
  2.2   clause (2), item (ii), must be an amount equal to the rate that 
  2.3   was negotiated under subdivision 1d for a 30-bed facility under 
  2.4   clause (2), item (i).
