modifying the definition of dependent child under (MSRS); clarifying certain membership requirements on the board of directors relating to representation from the transit operations division of the metropolitan council, eliminating the separate term of office for the retired member; reducing the time limit for state departments to pay omitted salary deductions; clarifying surviving spouse joint and survivor benefit eligibility and eliminating the shortest surviving spouse coverage term certain option; clarifying state employee refund eligibility upon termination; clarifying the definition of allowable service and modifying the definition of dependent child under the state troopers retirement plan and increasing the death benefit payable to dependent children; specifying the time of determination of the cash value of participant shares in the supplemental retirement fund under the state unclassified employees retirement program for termination withdrawal options purposes and providing for accrual of annuities before the redemption of shares upon request of certain early retirees; modifying office location requirements for the PERA board of trustees; authorizing automatic deposits in domestic cash management accounts; clarifying surviving spouse joint and survivor annuity eligibility, waiver of the optional annuity not to create dependent child survivor benefits eligibility; eliminating the shortest surviving spouse coverage term certain option; prohibiting the payment of disability benefits before use of annual or sick leave or before salary impairment during the period of disability and modifying certain provisions relating to continued benefits eligibility after reemployment; including paramedics in disability benefit eligibility provisions under the public employees police and fire fund; expanding survivor eligibility for the annuity increase based on the change in the postretirement interest rate actuarial assumption for members of the police and fire fund covered by more than one retirement system; modifying the term of service of certain members of the board of trustees elected in odd numbered years; modifying the computation of service credit; clarifying the time for certification of sabbatical, parental and extended leaves of absence and eliminating references to maternity leave under parental leave provisions; authorizing automatic deposits in domestic cash management accounts; clarifying provisions relating to the election of optional accelerated retirement annuity; eliminating certain restrictions on election of a certain optional accelerated retirement annuity; providing for the prorating of reemployment income for persons retired for only a fractional part of a calendar year for no annuity reduction eligibility purposes; modifying the time limit for payment of contribution refunds upon termination of service;
