  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans; extending the application period 
  1.3             for the Gulf War veterans bonus; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1998, section 197.79, subdivision 10. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 197.79, 
  1.7   subdivision 10, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 10.  [DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS.] The application 
  1.9   period for the bonus program established in this section shall 
  1.10  be November 1, 1997, to June 30, 1999 2001.  The department may 
  1.11  not receive or accept new applications after June 30, 1999 2001. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective June 30, 1999.
