  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to civil service in the city of New Hope. 
  1.3   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.4      Section 1.  [ABANDONING CHAPTER 44 MERIT SYSTEM.] 
  1.5      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 44.16, the city 
  1.6   of New Hope may abandon the merit system established by city 
  1.7   ordinance pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 44, by 
  1.8   resolution of the city council adopted at a regularly scheduled 
  1.9   meeting of the council.
