  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; authorizing the 
  1.3             commissioner of public safety to award grants for 
  1.4             substance abuse intervention in neighborhoods 
  1.5             programs; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTERVENTION IN NEIGHBORHOODS 
  1.8   PROGRAMS.] 
  1.9      $150,000 is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 
  1.10  2001, from the general fund to the commissioner of public safety 
  1.11  to be used to award grants to local organizations for substance 
  1.12  abuse intervention in neighborhoods programs.  The commissioner 
  1.13  shall develop a process for administrating the grant, including 
  1.14  criteria for the grants.
