  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to retirement; providing benefit increases 
  1.3             for the Eveleth police and fire trust fund.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [EVELETH POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS; BENEFIT 
  1.6   INCREASE.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, 
  1.8   in addition to the current pensions and other retirement 
  1.9   benefits payable, the pensions and retirement benefits payable 
  1.10  to retired police officers and firefighters and their surviving 
  1.11  spouses by the Eveleth police and fire trust fund are increased 
  1.12  by $100 a month.  Increases are retroactive to January 1, 1999. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective on approval by the Eveleth city 
  1.15  council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
