  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing the establishment 
  1.3             of reserve accounts for transportation; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 126C.10, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 126C.10, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 23.  [RESERVED REVENUE FOR TRANSPORTATION.] A school 
  1.10  district may establish one or more reserve for transportation 
  1.11  accounts in the general fund which will contain revenue 
  1.12  designated to those accounts by the board.  Revenue contained in 
  1.13  a reserve for transportation account may only be used for 
  1.14  transportation-related expenditures and shall not be available 
  1.15  for other purposes. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
