  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; modifying referendum authority 
  1.3             for independent school district No. 2862, Jackson 
  1.4             County Central. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2862, JACKSON 
  1.7   COUNTY CENTRAL; REFERENDUM AUTHORITY.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [REFERENDUM REVENUE ADJUSTMENT.] 
  1.9   Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 124A.03, referendum 
  1.10  equalization aid for fiscal year 1998 for independent school 
  1.11  district No. 2862, Jackson County Central, is $72,000, and the 
  1.12  district's net tax capacity referendum levy is $61,000. 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [AID ADJUSTMENT.] The department of children, 
  1.14  families, and learning shall adjust the aid payments for fiscal 
  1.15  year 1998 to independent school district No. 2862, Jackson 
  1.16  County Central, according to subdivision 1. 
  1.17     Subd. 3.  [LEVY ADJUSTMENT.] For taxes payable in 1999, the 
  1.18  department of children, families, and learning shall make a levy 
  1.19  adjustment for the independent school district No. 2862, Jackson 
  1.20  County Central, referendum levy authority for fiscal year 1998 
  1.21  according to subdivision 1. 
  1.22     Sec. 4.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
