  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; appropriating money to 
  1.3             the department of corrections for juvenile mentoring 
  1.4             pilot programs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of corrections for the fiscal year ending June 30, 
  1.9   1999, to be used to fund additional juvenile mentoring pilot 
  1.10  programs as described in Laws 1996, chapter 408, article 2, 
  1.11  section 8.  At the end of the pilot programs, the commissioner 
  1.12  shall report findings and recommendations concerning the pilot 
  1.13  programs to the chairs of the house and senate committees with 
  1.14  jurisdiction over criminal justice and higher education issues.  
  1.15  This appropriation is available until expended.
