  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; providing an exemption from 
  1.3             sales taxes for purchase of equipment designed to 
  1.4             process biosolids for wastewater treatment facilities; 
  1.5             amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 297A.25, by 
  1.6             adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 297A.25, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 73.  [BIOSOLIDS PROCESSING EQUIPMENT.] The gross 
  1.11  receipts from the sale of and the storage, use, or consumption 
  1.12  of materials and supplies used or consumed in installing or 
  1.13  operating equipment designed to process, dewater, and recycle 
  1.14  biosolids for wastewater treatment facilities are exempt. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective for sales and purchases occurring 
  1.17  after June 30, 1998.
