  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; expressly approving an 
  1.3             addition to the sentencing guidelines commentary. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [AMENDMENT TO SENTENCING GUIDELINES.] 
  1.6      Pursuant to Laws 1997, chapter 96, section 11, the proposed 
  1.7   comment contained on page 19 of the January 1998 Minnesota 
  1.8   sentencing guidelines commission's report to the legislature 
  1.9   shall take effect on August 1, 1998.
