  1.2             relating to state parks; modifying state park permit 
  1.3             provisions for certain groups; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1996, section 85.053, subdivision 5. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 85.053, 
  1.7   subdivision 5, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 5.  [DAILY VEHICLE PERMIT FOR GROUPS.] The 
  1.9   commissioner shall prescribe a special daily vehicle state park 
  1.10  permit for groups for use of state parks, state recreation 
  1.11  areas, or state waysides for up to one day under conditions 
  1.12  prescribed by the commissioner.  The commissioner may issue one 
  1.13  special permit per year, for one-half of the regular cost, to 
  1.14  nonprofit, volunteer groups that work with and assist nonadults 
  1.15  in Minnesota.
