  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to child care; funding the basic sliding fee 
  1.3             waiting list; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 
  1.7   LEARNING.] The sum indicated in this section is appropriated 
  1.8   from the general fund to the department of children, families, 
  1.9   and learning for the fiscal year designated. 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [BASIC SLIDING FEE CHILD CARE.] For child care 
  1.11  assistance according to Minnesota Statutes, section 119B.03: 
  1.12       $.......       .....     1999 
  1.13     This appropriation is in addition to the appropriation 
  1.14  under Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 4, section 63, subdivision 
  1.15  2. 
  1.16     The commissioner shall allocate the additional 
  1.17  appropriation to counties to eliminate the waiting lists for 
  1.18  assistance through the basic sliding fee program.
