  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             construction of a noncommercial television tower. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of administration for a grant to Pioneer Public 
  1.8   Television for the construction of a noncommercial television 
  1.9   translator tower.  The construction of this tower will primarily 
  1.10  enable the residents of Ottertail county to receive this 
  1.11  noncommercial television signal.  Before state funds are 
  1.12  released for this project, a license to operate this facility 
  1.13  must be granted by the Federal Communications Commission.  In 
  1.14  order to qualify for this grant, Pioneer Public Television must 
  1.15  provide a match which equals at least 25 percent of the total 
  1.16  project costs from nonstate government sources.
