Introduction - 80th Legislature, 1997 2nd Special Session

  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; providing an effective 
  1.3             date for a requirement that contracts relating to 
  1.4             construction or improvement of educational facilities 
  1.5             are subject to prevailing wage requirements; amending 
  1.6             Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 16, section 31. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 16, section 31, 
  1.9   is amended to read: 
  1.10     Sec. 31.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.11     Section 4 applies to contracts entered into after June 30, 
  1.12  1997, except that if a referendum that approved the issuance of 
  1.13  bonds for the construction or improvement of an educational 
  1.14  facility was held prior to July 1, 1997, section 4 does not 
  1.15  apply to contracts related to that project regardless of the 
  1.16  date of those contracts. 
  1.17     Section 9 is effective for decrees of marriage dissolution, 
  1.18  deeds, or other instruments executed and delivered after July 1, 
  1.19  1997. 
  1.20     Section 10 is effective for assessments made on or after 
  1.21  the effective date of laws 1996, chapter 471, article 2, section 
  1.22  32. 
  1.23     Section 19 is effective the day following final enactment. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.25     Section 1 is effective retroactive to July 1, 1997.
