  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to legislative enactments; providing for the 
  1.3             correction of miscellaneous oversights, 
  1.4             inconsistencies, ambiguities, unintended results, and 
  1.5             technical errors of a noncontroversial nature; 
  1.6             amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 403.02, 
  1.7             subdivision 2, as amended. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  [CORRECTION.] 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 403.02, 
  1.11  subdivision 2, as amended by Laws 1997, chapter 202, article 3, 
  1.12  section 18, is amended to read: 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [METROPOLITAN AREA.] "Metropolitan area" means 
  1.14  the metropolitan area as defined in section 473.121, subdivision 
  1.15  2 counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, 
  1.16  and Washington. 
  1.17     Subd. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the 
  1.18  day following final enactment.
