  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; requiring a study of 
  1.3             legislative review of administrative rulemaking. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [STUDY.] 
  1.6      The legislative coordinating commission must study the 
  1.7   current system for legislative review of administrative 
  1.8   rulemaking and must make recommendations for any changes needed 
  1.9   to ensure effective legislative review of proposed and existing 
  1.10  state agency rules.  The study must be done using existing 
  1.11  legislative staff.  The commission shall report to the 
  1.12  legislature by January 15, 1999.
