  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to elections; Ethics in Government Act; 
  1.3             requiring payment of any late filing fees or civil 
  1.4             fines as a condition of eligibility for a public 
  1.5             subsidy; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes, chapter 10A. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [10A.3235] [PAYMENT OF LATE FEES AND FINES.] 
  1.9      In addition to the requirements of sections 10A.322 and 
  1.10  10A.323, to be eligible to receive a public subsidy under 
  1.11  section 10A.31 or 10A.315, a candidate or the candidate's 
  1.12  treasurer must have paid all late filing fees and civil fines 
  1.13  imposed against the candidate or the candidate's principal 
  1.14  campaign committee under this chapter.
