  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Minneapolis; authorizing the 
  1.3             city of Minneapolis to regulate pistols. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS; AUTHORITY TO REGULATE 
  1.6   PISTOLS.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 624.7131, 
  1.8   subdivision 12, 624.7132, subdivision 16, or 624.717, or other 
  1.9   law, the city of Minneapolis may regulate by ordinance the 
  1.10  carrying or possessing of pistols within Minneapolis. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.12     Section 1 is effective the day after the city of 
  1.13  Minneapolis complies with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.14  subdivision 3.
