  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; modifying the use of health and 
  1.3             safety revenue for independent school district Nos. 
  1.4             561, Goodridge, and 600, Fisher; amending Laws 1995, 
  1.5             First Special Session chapter 3, article 8, section 23.
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1995, First Special Session chapter 3, 
  1.8   article 8, section 23, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Sec. 23.  [GOODRIDGE AND FISHER HEALTH AND SAFETY REVENUE 
  1.10  USE.] 
  1.11     Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 124.83, 
  1.12  subdivision 6, independent school district No. Nos. 561, 
  1.13  Goodridge, and 600, Fisher, may use capital health and safety 
  1.14  revenue to purchase portable wooden classrooms used for music 
  1.15  instruction for kindergarten through grade 12.  Any proceeds 
  1.16  from the subsequent sale of portable wooden classrooms purchased 
  1.17  with health and safety revenue shall be placed in the district's 
  1.18  health and safety account in the capital fund and shall be used 
  1.19  to adjust health and safety revenue. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
